Akira Animal Sanctuary in Calpe is a non-profit shelter dedicated to rescuing and rehoming abandoned dogs from Benissa, Teulada, and Moraira. Perfect dogshelter with inside and outside kennels for the dogs. It's super clean and the staff/ volunteers are lovely with the dogs. The dogs also get walked on a daily basis in the forest behind the shelter. Wonderful place if you are looking for a rescuedog

So much love for the animals! The shelter itself is very well-maintained, and the dogs are also lovingly cared for. The stories of how these dogs were abandoned brought tears to my eyes. Thanks to the entire team for your care!
It's fantastic what AKIRA does. A huge compliment to the AKIRA staff for the hard work they do, free of charge, and for sacrificing their time for the welfare of the dogs. Our friends and I adopted a dog from AKIRA (Apollo and Akiro, formerly Jim), and we were able to see for ourselves how well the dogs are looked after. The dogs bring us a lot of joy, and we are glad we were able to improve their future lives. I must also compliment the AKIRA staff on carefully checking where and what the future home of an adopted dog will be like. Exemplary, please keep it up!
