Piscina Municipal de Calp is the sporting heart of Calpe, managed by the town’s sports department, Calp Esports. This active hub hosts major annual events including the Hero Costa Blanca MTB marathon (21 February 2026), part of the UCI World Cup, with 82 km and 50 km routes, and the XIII Cursa Popular de Calp (22 February 2026), a 10 km race in the Circuit a Peu de la Marina. My place to do a little sport.
As a foreign tourist, you no longer have access to the pool unless you register with the municipality as a resident or temporary resident. Our Belgian identity card isn't sufficient for admission. To register, we have to go to the town hall, but that's only available Monday morning from 9:30 a.m. (it's now Friday afternoon). We fully understand the management of the ever-increasing tourist flow, but as a resident of the European Union, standing at the entrance of a pool where there wasn't a single swimmer, it's a bit of a shame.
