The Alt del Governador Trailhead in Calpe is the starting point for a moderate 2.4-mile out-and-back hike through Sierra Helada Natural Park. This linear route features a steep 1,269-foot elevation gain and typically takes 2–2.5 hours to complete. Beautiful walk around the bay to the lighthouse at the top. Great views, not very physically demanding, but it is good exercise. The ocean breeze and the scenery are worth the effort. The only drawback was the WC was closed the day we visited in late November. I’m not sure if it is seasonal or just closed the day we visited.
