The Altea bunkers were built around 1937, during the Civil War. Known as machine gun nests or concrete casemates, they are a total of eight bunkers along the coastline of Altea and El Albir. Currently, only the Olla bunker and the Cap Negret bunker remain standing, in very good condition due to restoration but without access.
