Far de l’Albir is a working lighthouse built in 1863, perched at the edge of Sierra Helada Natural Park in Calpe. Originally accessible only by foot or donkey, it now features a paved 4.5-kilometre route suitable for walking or cycling, leading to a small museum with historical photographs and maritime equipment. The museum opens mornings in winter and mornings/afternoons in summer. Nearby, the 16th-century Torre Bombarda stands as a reminder of the coast’s pirate-defence past. A free car park and tourist information centre mark the trailhead, while a steeper 7-kilometre route to the repeater station offers sweeping views of Benidorm and Alicante. If you fancy a walk, the Far de l’Albir is accessible to everyone, including people with reduced mobility. The 2.5 km (one way) path is paved. A leisurely hour's walk will take you to the summit. The view is breathtaking. Don't forget to bring water and a hat. At the start of the trail, there is free parking and a designated area for bicycles. A must-do at least once! And it's free!

Wow, what views! The sea is beautiful and in all its splendor; you feel insignificant in the face of its immensity.
Highly recommended for a pleasant walk enjoying spectacular panoramic views of the Calpe coast leading to the Albir Lighthouse. The path is paved and accessible to everyone, leading to the lighthouse.
